Franz HansHans Franz (Indonesia, 1951) has lived in the Netherlands since the age of five. When he was twelve he started taking photos with his grandfather's camera and has developed a special interest in people, with a keen eye for the unexpected and the reflex to capture it. In 1990, he became a fulltime professional photographer. Being a passionate traveller, Hans emphasizes that a photo opportunity is always close at hand. You don’t need to travel to make good photos. Inspiration may come from anything and anywhere. To prove his point, he frequently makes pictures in the confinement of his apartment. Hans gives lectures, workshops and teaches photography, inspiring his students to open their minds and to find new approaches and techniques. Over the years he has supported a great number of colleagues in their transition from analog to digital photography. He works for advertising agencies, companies and magazines.
